The Association of Friends of the National Cancer-free Initiative, AFNCI completes 70% of the sewage network in Alkola village in Suhag to serve 3000 families

In favor of offering healthy environment to our people in the neediest villages in Upper Egypt and protecting them from diseases, work is in progress for the sewage network that AFNCI established in Akhmim, Suhag. The network will serve Alkola village with its three hamlets, Emran, Alkora and Alsakia along with Al-Ahaywa village. The network that will serve 3000 families is 70% completed. The project has also offered 60 work opportunities for the villages’ youth. The project cost is 100 million pounds and it is expected to be completed and in operation by the beginning of February 2020.

The efforts exerted in this project are part of AFNCI’s commitment to its mission of taking initiatives that contribute to protecting Egyptians’ health, as a proactive step to prevent diseases, and eliminate pollution sources.

While cooperating with the state’s entities, AFNCI aims to finish the project as soon as possible. This project reflects the strong relationship between state entities and civil society organizations.
